Shiv Swarajya Din, also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, is an annual celebration that commemorates the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the legendary Maratha warrior king. On 6th June 2023, SCMHRD Pune organized a grand event to honor the life and achievements of Shivaji Maharaj.
The event was inaugurated by the Deputy Director of SCMHRD, Dr. K. Rajagopal. The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. Sir gave a brief description on how Chhatrapati Shivaji's military forces expanded the Maratha sphere of influence, capturing and building forts, and forming a Maratha navy.
Dr. Suhas Ambekar, Faculty member at SCMHRD, also gave an excellent overview on the values of leadership, courage, patriotism, and good governance that Shivaji Maharaj exemplified. By commemorating the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, SCMHRD Pune contributed to fostering a sense of pride, patriotism, and leadership among its students, faculty, and staff members, while also promoting cultural diversity and historical awareness on campus.
Overall, the Shiv Swarajya Din celebration at SCMHRD Pune served as a significant event that highlighted the enduring influence of Shivaji Maharaj and his relevance.
