The Induction Ceremony for the 25 th batch, 2018-20 of SCMHRD was graced with the presence of the Chancellor of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Pro Chancellor, Dr.Vidya Yeravdekar and Vice-Chancellor, Dr.Rajani Gupte .The chief Guest of the day was Mr.Kartikeya Goel, IAS, Inspector General of Registration and Stamp, Chhattisgarhand, the Guest of Honour was, Mr.VivekKaul, Author of the famous ‘Easy Money’ Trilogy. Both Mr. Kartikeya and Mr.Vivek were illustrious alumni of SCMHRD.
The Director of the institution, Dr.Pratima Sheorey delivered the welcome address and invited all the guests on the dais to share their insights with the audience.
Dr.S.B.Mujumdar, whose vision led to the foundation of the Symbiosis International University, started the ceremony on a very positive note by lighting the lamp, and reciting a prayer which instilled a sense of giving our best with all our honesty in whatever we do. He then introduced and felicitated Mr. Vasant Thakar, founder of the ‘SAVALI’ trust that works for the children and adults suffering from MR and Cerebral Palsy. He also made a contribution in terms of a donation to the trust.
Dr.Rajani Gupte and Dr.Vidya Yeravdekar addressed the audience and talked about the values Symbiosis strongly believes in, along with their own experiences with the Institute.
Mr.Kartikeya Goel and Mr.Vivek Kaul, both alumni of SCMHRD, who took the roads less travelled by, were the perfect examples of how running a rat race is never worth it, even if you end up winning it.
Mr.Vivek’s brutally honest yet amusing experiences kept the audience engaged and attentive. Whereas, Mr.Kartikeya motivated each one of the students to never be satisfied with where they are and keep striving to achieve more. Both the guests’portrayed two totally different perspectives, but it all came down to finding your true calling and following it.
Dr.NetraNeelam, the Deputy Director of SCMHRD, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks to the respected dignitaries.
