Redefining times with Cummins

Inauguration event of Cummins India’s Redefine, a case-study competition, launched on 3rd August 2021 was hosted by Khushboo Chugh, Employer branding lead, Cummins India and witnessed prominent leaders of Cummins India speak at length about company’s phenomenal growth over the past century. The launch took place virtually and witnessed student participation of first-year management students of select B-schools in the country, to whom the competition is exclusive.

Cummins, an American multinational company, has a legacy of more than a century. Cummins India is a group of eight legal entities spread across 200 locations in the country. Their case study challenge reflected the company’s aim of redefining energy sources. The case study this year was devised around electrification, which required students to devise strategies to bring in innovation in the power sector.

Business case study challenges enable one to develop a thorough understanding of not just the problem at hand but also of the industry. Redefine did just that. The competition opened the floor for young leaders to battle it out with their intellect. The winners get to intern with the company whereas the runners-up will get a direct interview opportunity.

The competition saw very enthusiastic and zealous participation from SCMHRD. There were four campus semi-finalists from the institute. The grand finale of the event is scheduled for the 3rd of September. As part of the Redefine challenge, there was a quiz challenge conducted. Winners of the quiz were announced through another virtual session. SCMHRD stood proud here with one of the winners, Satadru Chowdhury being a student of the institute. All in all, the launch was a successful event and brought out the spirit of competition amongst SCMHRDians.
