Kshitij Sharma, batch of 2018-2020, specializing in Marketing, had the opportunity to intern with Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), an American Medical Technology company. She worked for Business-to-Business vertical as well as Business-to-Consumer vertical to create a go-to-market (GTM) strategy for Blood Transfer Device (BTD) and BD Luer-Lok™ Access Device (LLAD) for ICU and emergency departments of hospitals.
She began her project by understanding the healthcare market with a primary research survey through a questionnaire. This helped her understand the market potential and segment market via cluster analysis. Due to this streamlined approach she could build her strategy more accurately. For the second phase, she created a tool for sales department for cost calculation and account profiting so as to make their work simpler and better.
When asked about the work environment and mentor-mentee coordination, she said she was very happy with the way she was given a clarity of thought about the work and the results expected off her. BD has an open-door policy which made communication even better and the people were approachable and extremely helpful.
Being on her toes and elucidated about the deliverables was the most important reason she was able to give her deliverables before deadline which was a brownie point for her, that eventually helped her bag the PPO. She wishes good luck to the current batch and asks the batch to be at their best for the upcoming placement season.
Many congratulations and all the very best, from every one of us at SCMHRD.
