Plantation Drive at SCMHRD

Braving the rains on a quiet 23rd July, SCMHRD conducted a tree plantation drive across the SIC campus. At 11:20, the Director Dr. Pratima Sheorey, Deputy Director Dr. Netra Neelam, students and staff participated in the tree plantation drive. Trees were planted at different locations in and around the campus. The symbolism was not lost on anyone. Celebrating its silver jubilee, the institute had planted the seeds of growth across the campus. While banking on its legacy, it’s never afraid to revitalize itself and grow in different directions. It was also symbolic of SCMHRD’s keen sense of knowing where the future of management education is headed, with a strong Business Analytics and infrastructure management course whose time has come.
One of the highlights of the event was the interaction with the gardener, who informed the students about the nuances of planting trees. They took back a new-found appreciation for nature from the session, knowing that the green lungs they had planted would help future batches have a better quality of air.
The term Symbiosis is used to denote a mutually beneficial relationship in nature. Through the plantation drive, SCMHRD has reaffirmed its mission to serve all its stakeholders and grow in a sustainable fashion. With climate change becoming a reality, corporate India needs managers who can grow big and grow green. Through the plantation drive, SCMHRD has made sure that it will be ground zero for such kind of future leaders.
