Philips India provided a great opportunity to the students across various top eligible B-schools, with their ‘Philips ThinkUp Challenge’. The tagline ‘Don’t just dare to think, dare to think differently’, clearly shows that the challenge was all about donning one’s thinking hat and providing the most unique solution possible. The 3-round challenge expected both 1st and 2nd year students to make teams of 3 and test their mettle, inthe domain of marketing this year.
The case study was rather an interesting one. A live problem situation from Philip’s ‘Consulting and Services’ portfolio domain of Health Systemsbusiness was provided to the students. They had to propose a solution for the same in a one-slider presentation. The challenge was to impart the prospective hospital owners in India, the Philips’s Strategy led design approach. In the early stages of building hospitals, Philips should become the most preferred option. The students were asked to play a young Marketing Manager and propose a solution for the same.
