Experiential learning is a part and parcel of curriculum at SCMHRD and hence students are given exposure to real time learning through various case study competitions provided to them by major corporate houses. SCMHRD proudly hosted the campus round for Nestlé Ingenium, an HR case study competition on 15th September, 2019. The case study aimed to test the ability of budding HR managers of top campuses on labour laws, full utilization of a company’s resources and idea of fair pay.
Nestlé is a Swiss multinational food and drink company, with the former being the largest in the world, measured by revenues and other metrics since 2014. The product portfolio includes coffee and tea, medical food, breakfast cereals, pet foods, confectionery, baby food, bottled water, dairy products, ice cream, frozen food and snacks.
The jury panel had industry stalwarts like Mr. Sankalp Naswa, Manager – Total Rewards and Ms. Malvika Assija, HR Manager at Nestlé who came in to test the HR acumen of the finalists. The top 3 teams that qualified the preliminary round presented their solution for 15 minutes through the medium of presentation which was followed by a 15-minute Question and Answer session. The effort of the students was recognised and lauded by the judges. The winning team was presented with a hefty cash prize and a gift hamper from Nestlé.
The feedback given to individual teams was made available to all and inputs given by the industry experts gave students insights, developing from experience and practice in one of the top MNCs around the world. Students were truly enriched by the valuable session and all the stakeholders involved in the competition took back home major learnings specific to the Human Resource domain.
