Leadership Talk @ Honeywell

As a part of leadership week at SCMHRD, the institute added one more feather to its hat when
delegates from Honeywell, Mr. Sajujohn Pallath and Ms. Shavee Sehajpal put up an interesting and insightful session. Ms.Shavee is Human Resource Leader at Honeywell whereas Mr.Sajujohn comes from a financial background and has recently forayed into Analytics at Honeywell.
The session kicked off with a brief discussion of Industry 4.0 and what is Honeywell’s vision about the same followed by an interaction about multiple businesses and expertise Honeywell operates in.
Mr.Sajujohn shared insights about business areas like Turbochargers, thermostats, aerospace,
refinery equipment, sensor dominated equipment and enlightened about how automation and
analytics are actively implemented across these domains.
Mr.Sajujohn then went on to explain how Honeywell practices innovative automation in their 4
major business areas i.e. Aerospace, Home and Building Technologies, Safety and Productivity
Solutions and Performance Material and Technologies. He introduced us to platforms like Alteryx
used extensively at Honeywell, custom apps such as Honeywell Pulse which is disrupting how
refineries or plants operate in terms of real-time reporting, alerting and diagnosing. Honeywell Lyric is another thermostatic capability Honeywell has in place.
Technological advancements and innovations at Honeywell are backed by the concept of SMAC:
Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud. Adding on, since Honeywell is a B2B organization, it has a fair
contribution in the Govt. funded Smart City Project wherein they make recommendations and
suggestions about the kind of infrastructure needed for the project to be a success.
The session came to an end with a few students sharing their industry experiences. Mr.Sajujohn
shared about how Honeywell is looking forward to excel and expertise in the field of automation and advanced analytics and how it plans to make it a success.
