Kanupriya Gupta, an alumna of the 2004 batch of SCMHRD, is a self-contained and unassuming personality, who has progressed through a stellar and unblemished career. Ms Gupta graduated in Mathematics from the prestigious Lady Shri Ram College for women, Delhi in the year 2001, after which she decided to follow her passion in Human Resources. And thus began her journey as an SCMHRDian, a sobriquet she’s proud of being associated with. A decade and a half later, she still reminisces about the 2 memorable years that she spent in the western part of the country. So, when the Alumni Relations Team reached out to her to have an interaction as part of the Alumni Connect Drive, she didn’t have to think twice before accepting the invite. She duly took out time from her busy schedule to share some of her experiences.
Kanu, as she is fondly called by her friends and colleagues, remembers how the stressful life at SCMHRD helped her in acclimatizing to the corporate world by always staying on her toes. And not just the academic rigour, she firmly believes that the extra-curricular activities at college also went a long way in shaping her successful career.
Kanu joined Intel as an HR Business Analyst and has been with the same organization ever since. Even in her fledgling days, she was responsible for developing goals and strategies to ensure the smooth functioning of the HR department. Through her hard work and dedication, she rose through the ranks to reach the upper echelons of Intel in a considerably lesser time than expected. She now serves as the Compensation & Benefits Director for the Asia region. She’s accountable for devising the entire pay, stock and benefits structure for the Intel Architecture group across Asia.
Despite her busy life, Kanu sees herself as a family person and prioritizes her family over most other commitments. She loves to travel with her family and enjoys taking vacations in far off and exotic places.
