iEmergence: ‘Capitalizing on Chaos’

The Infrastructure Committee at SCMHRD plays an integral role in conducting various events, workshops and activities for students, alumni and staff. All infrastructure related events on campus are carried out in terms of planning, organizing, and promoting activities for these events.

Without letting the pandemic daunt our spirits and learning capabilities, Infrastructure Committee SCMHRD launched its exclusive event iEmergence – Panel Discussions, with the theme ‘Capitalizing On Chaos’ aimed at emerging stronger from the pandemic with better sustainable infrastructure in place. This event consists of a series of panel discussions along the domains of supply chain and operations management, project management, renewable energy and infrastructure financing. The motto of conducting this event was to make the essence of academic learnings blend with industry practices and how the infrastructure industry is evolving in the post COVID Era.

In the past we have been privileged to host dignitaries like Shri Amitabh Kant (CEO- NITI Aayog), Shri. Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister, MoRTH and Shipping), Shri. Anil Swarup (Ex-Secretary, Ministry of Coal), Shri. Rajeev Mehrotra (Chairman – RITES), and Shri. S. B. Nayar (Chairman – IIFCL) on campus. We have also hosted leaders from companies like Jacobs, Worley, Turner, CBRE, Crisil, World Bank, Baker Hughes.

In the latest version of our event, the first panel focused on Sustainable Financing for Infrastructure Projects in the post-COVID Era and was attended by Industry stalwarts Mr. Sachin Pant – President at SREI Infrastructure, Mr. Pushkar Kulkarni – Senior Principal at CPP Investments, Mr.Vishal Dave – VP at Berkadia, and Prof. Sunit Joshi – the faculty for finance at SCMHRD and a banking veteran.

The second panel brought out the importance of Sustainable Project Delivery in the post-COVID Era and was attended by Industry Giants like – Suman Ramasundaram – P.E. Associate Director Atkins, Mrinal Das – Executive VP, Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd., Murali Krishna Rambhatla – Director, Bentley Systems, Kapil Khanna – Group Sector Head, Tata Consulting Engineers Limited.

Both the panels were anchored by faculties from SCMHRD, namely Dr. Dipasha Sharma, Financial Author and Finance Faculty and Dr. Kedar Bhagwat, Head of Department, MBA – IDM.

We look forward to holding more panel discussions under iEmergence with different themes, and to the learnings that our students and faculty members would reap benefits out of, so that we all can together tackle the challenges ahead to “Make Infrastructure Happen” in India.
