As part of the induction ceremony at Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), we attended an impactful Anti-Ragging session that reinforced the institute's zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. This session was both enlightening and reassuring, setting the tone for a safe and supportive campus environment.
The session began with an informative video that provided a comprehensive overview of ragging, covering various perspectives on why it occurs and how it can be prevented. Through a series of thought-provoking skits, the video vividly illustrated the severe impact that ragging can have on an individual's academic performance, mental health, and overall future. These dramatizations highlighted the emotional and psychological trauma that victims often endure, emphasizing the urgent need to eradicate such practices.
Following the video, we were informed about the dedicated helpline number 1800-180-5522 stated as and various measures in place to combat ragging. The session ensured that every student was aware of the resources available to them and the steps they could take if they encountered or witnessed any form of ragging. This proactive approach instilled a sense of security among the new students, reassuring us that the institute prioritizes our well-being.
Dr. K. Rajagopal, our Deputy Director, then addressed the crowd with a compelling speech on the serious consequences of participating in ragging. He reiterated SCMHRD's unwavering stance against ragging, mentioning that the institution has consistently enforced strict measures such as rustication and cancellation of admission for offenders. Dr Rajagopal's address highlighted the role of the internal committee in monitoring and deciding on such matters, further emphasizing the institute's commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful campus culture.
This committee has our director, Dr Netra Neelam as the chairperson, Deputy Director Mr Rajagopal, and various other members which include representation from teaching and non-teaching staff, the Civil Administration of Hinjewadi, the Police and local media, and the student body.

The session left a lasting impression on all attendees, fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness among us. We felt reassured about our safety on campus while also understanding the gravity of the issue and the importance of avoiding any participation in ragging activities. The message was clear: ragging has no place in our institution, and we must all contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.
In conclusion, the Anti-Ragging session at SCMHRD underscored the institution's zero-tolerance policy and equipped us with the knowledge and resources to stand against ragging. As future leaders and managers, it is imperative that we embody these values and actively oppose any form of ragging, ensuring a positive and supportive atmosphere for all.
