Mr. Anil Swaroop's Words of Wisdom

In an intellectually stirring session, Mr. Anil Swaroop, an esteemed former IAS officer, shared powerful life lessons from his long and distinguished career in public service. Having worked under various ministers and across diverse departments, Mr. Swaroop emphasized one simple truth: focus on what is within your control. He explained how worrying about problems beyond our capacity is futile. Instead, small, consistent actions can create powerful change in our immediate surroundings.

He recounted bold moments from his journey where he took a stand, convinced key decision-makers, and faced consequences without fear-because, as he said, "repercussions in government work are inevitable." His words encouraged us to develop self-belief, avoid assumptions and expectations from others, and to build a personal source of strength.

Mr. Swaroop also highlighted the importance of a positive mindset and finding joy in work, which naturally fuels passion. He shared how his interest in reading helped him evolve gradually into a more thoughtful, impactful leader.

Perhaps the most striking part was the introduction of his initiative-the Nexus of Good foundation. He asked: "If negativity spreads easily, why not create a space where optimism thrives?" That question resonated deeply with all of us. The foundation aims to build a community focused on solutions, not complaints.

The session ended with reflections on ethical decision-making, handling grey areas, and staying grounded. Mr. Swaroop's wisdom left a lasting impression-reminding us that the most powerful change often begins with the self.
