Today's session with Ms. Rashmi Lamba was a deep dive into something that affects all of us-Diversity and Inclusion. It opened our eyes to the power of soft influence, the kind that doesn't dominate but inspires. We realized that inclusion isn't just a buzzword, it's about shifting how we see people, opportunities, and fairness.
We talked about the difference between equality and equity. One example really struck us: if a man, a woman, a child, and a person with a disability are all given the same-sized cycle, is that really fair? Equity means giving each person what they need to succeed. That simple analogy helped us understand why equity matters far more than surface-level equality.
We also explored how society boxes people, especially men into rigid roles. The "Man Box" tells boys they can't cry, show fear, or ask for help. It was a call for all of us to break free from those expectations and build a culture where vulnerability is strength and emotions are human.
What stood out most was the narrative around women. Ms. Lamba challenged us to change how we see and speak about women: not just through traditional labels, but as strong, analytical, fearless, and logical professionals.
We left the session inspired to unlearn, relearn, and become champions of a more inclusive and fairer world. Diversity is not the opposite of merit; it is what gives merit its full meaning.
