The campus of SCMHRD came alive on 10th June 2025, as we, the incoming students of the MBA Batch of 2025-27 gathered for Deeksharambh, the official Induction Ceremony. This day wasn't just a formal event; it marked the beginning of a journey that promises to shape our lives both personally and professionally. Over 300 of us, from diverse backgrounds and across various programs MBA Core, Executive, Business Analytics, and Infrastructure Development and Management came together with excitement, curiosity, and ambition in our eyes.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a symbolic gesture representing knowledge, prosperity, and the pursuit of enlightenment. It was a meaningful moment that connected us to the institute's rich cultural traditions and gave us a sense of belonging. As the flame was lit, so were our aspirations, ignited by the promise of the next two years.
We were honoured to be welcomed by a distinguished lineup of dignitaries who have played pivotal roles in shaping SCMHRD's legacy Ms. Sakshi Anand, a proud alumna from the batch of 2000-2002 and now CHRO & Head ESG at Godfrey Phillips India Ltd., Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Netra Neelam, Director of SCMHRD, and Dr. K. Rajagopal, Deputy Director of SCMHRD.
Dr. Neelam was the first to address us, setting a powerful tone for what lies ahead. Her words were filled with warmth and wisdom. She spoke about the values that SCMHRD holds dear - excellence, discipline, and integrity and encouraged us to embrace every opportunity that comes our way. She reminded us that an MBA is not just an academic pursuit but a journey of personal transformation and leadership.
Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar followed with an inspiring message of confidence and pride in SCMHRD's continued success. Her belief in the institution and in the capabilities of the students added a layer of motivation as we looked ahead to what we could achieve.
One of the most relatable and heartfelt moments came from Ms. Sakshi Anand, whose reflections on her own MBA journey resonated with all of us. She shared how her time at SCMHRD had prepared her to multitask, manage time effectively, and stay rooted in her values and traits that continue to serve her in the corporate world. Her message reminded us that the seeds we sow now will grow into the foundations of our future success.
Post Lunch, after the formal addresses, we were introduced to the SCMHRD family, our future mentors, guides, and support system. Dr. Neelam took the time to acknowledge both the teaching and non-teaching staff, emphasizing how every individual plays a vital role in keeping the institution running seamlessly. It was heartwarming to see the unity among the various departments, and it became clear to us that SCMHRD functions not as isolated departments, but as a cohesive, collaborative team working towards one goal - student's success.
We also got a glimpse of the many people who work behind the scenes, the administrators, event coordinators, and support staff who make every lecture, exam, and event run like clockwork. Their efforts often go unnoticed, but this introduction reminded us how essential they are to our everyday experiences on campus.
As the ceremony drew to a close, Dr. Neelam left us with a thought-provoking message:
"If you take MBA as a sprint, your life will be a marathon. But if you take MBA as a marathon, life will be a sprint."
These words captured the essence of what lies ahead: a rigorous, enriching, and rewarding journey that will demand the best of us. With our hearts full and minds open, we stepped into this new chapter, ready to learn, grow, and thrive.
