#8: PPO Chronicles- Ankita Chugh, Capgemini

Ankita Chugh, from the Batch 2019-21, pursuing an MBA in Infrastructure Development and Management, interned at Capgemini Financial Services for her summer internship and successfully bagged a pre-placement offer with her dedicated hard work.

Ankita is an Electronics Engineering graduate from Delhi University and has an Advanced Diploma in French from Saint Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Ankita also had a prior work experience of 2 years in risk management profile at Amazon before pursuing her MBA. A bright and keen learner, Ankita is among the top three Academic Scholars of IDM Batch 2019-21.

After clearing the comprehensive process of Group Discussion followed by a Technical interview and an HR interview, Ankita was assigned to work in the project of Digital Transformation in Insurance. Despite the COVID-19 scenario, Capgemini adhered to its commitment and carried on the internship in a virtual set-up. The interns were assigned tasks from Monday to Friday, leading the schedule where Ankita stayed in regular contact with her mentor irrespective of the virtual set-up.

The project which was allocated to Ankita was the pilot project of Digital Transformation which focused on implementing Digital Technologies to Insurance. Her task mainly comprehends automating the entire process of Insurance claims while eluding human intervention by implementing the technology into the process. With the guidance of her Mentor, Ankita was provided windows of opportunity to ideate and implement, where she arrived with a mobile application and website that was acknowledged by the leadership in Capgemini. She acclaimed the responsibility for working 8-9 hours per days and got plenty of occasions to grasp new learnings using new tools.

The instincts of overcoming the challenges within the target deadlines and learning simultaneously caught the attention of her mentor. Her keen interest in risk management which is one of the core focus areas of IDM and her prior work experience in the same domain brought her the edge in getting the PPO over others. The work environment in Capgemini highly appraised the punctual and honest attitude of its interns, which eventually brought an enriching learning experience.

Ankita recommends the junior batch to attain learning instincts and showcase their best performance in the summer internship. Also, a piece of advice that Ankita has is to gain prior knowledge in fundamentals of Finance, Artificial Intelligence, Advance Excel, PPT Skills, a programming language and keeping up with latest technologies and trends brings an advantage and boosts the performance.
