4 Students of SCMHRD Qualify for EY YTP National Round

Students of SCMHRD, have sustained the legacy of making the institute proud in each and every corporate competition. A leaf has been added to the book of myriad achievements yet again. Ernst and Young, Global Delivery Services conducted its annual competition named Young Tax Professional and launched it in SCMHRD. A total of 5000 students applied for the competition across B-Schools in India. The launch was followed by a series of rounds; the first two being aptitude based, the third a case study which was followed by a PI. After a comprehensive evaluation of participants, 20 students were shortlisted pan India, out of which 4 were from SCMHRD.

The last leg of the competition happened in Bangalore and was no less than a spectacle. The 3-day affair had a series of Industrial Training sessions for the initial 2 days, which was followed by the Grand Finale on 20th of September. There were a host of activities like ice-breakers, knowledge sessions on relevant topics and interactions with senior management. Such activities prepared the finalists for the final showdown. During the grand-finale, the participants had to first undergo a GD based on a case study and later present their cases. Jasmine Peter from SCMHRD 1st year was amongst the top 6 finalists in the country. The 4 finalists were later offered PPOs from the company.

Talking about her experience she said, “EY GDS Young Tax Professional of the Year Competition was a whole different experience for me, being an MBA student specialising in HR. Initially I was really sceptical about how I’d go about with further rounds because I had no finance background, but the rounds were designed in a simple fashion so as to indulge everyone equally. The confidence and exposure given to me during the entire journey was immense and the whole experience was great. Our comfort and concerns were never compromised. The team was very warm and approachable.”

The institute gives ample opportunities to its students and they leave no stone unturned to scale it to the maximum and make the institute proud time and again. We congratulate our finalists for representing the institute on a national level and adding one more laurel to the good name of SCMHRD.
