Ashish Panda, a 2020-2022 batch student is currently pursuing his MBA in Marketing from SCMHRD. He shares his story of how he bagged a PPO in Wipro Limited.
Ashish always had a deep interest for tech and brands and has work experience of 2.9 years withInfosys Limited, where he worked as a Senior Systems Engineer. Ashish joined Wipro as anWiSE Intern where he was tasked to develop a Go-To-Market Strategy for the Digital OperationsTransformation for Europe & APMEA Markets in the insurance domain.
Unlike other interns, he had to complete 2projects simultaneously in a short span of 6-7weeks. He recalls how everyone around him was not so confident about the success of the project. But Ashish persisted and proved everyone wrong.
He shares the most thought-provoking aspectfor him was to grasp new technologies like Conversational AI, Chatbots, Self-ServiceSystems, etc in a short span of time. Also, mapping the vast market trends based on variety of regulations, healthcare infrastructure, and economy was challenging. Brainstorming solutions with Business Leaders, forming use cases for the same and identifying potential partners, pushed him out of his comfort zone but was an exciting task at the same time.
When asked about the secret of bagging a PPO, Ashish reveals that not only quality work but also forging meaningful relationships is the key to getting a PPO.
One piece of advice that Ashish has for his juniors is to be confident and have good interpersonal skills, as they are going to help them get the right information at the right time from the right person. He also emphasizes on connecting with the company seniors before the start of the internship so that they are able to acquaint themselves with the work culture of the company.
Having the ability to manage one’s time well and confidence in one’s ability is the backbone for any successful endeavour.
