Dimple Rai from Batch 2020-22, specializing in Human Resources, got the opportunity to intern with ITC Limited, which eventually led to a Pre-Placement Offer with the same company.
During her internship, her project into a newly established division, Central Projects Organization (CPO), involved framing a detailed curriculum to handle the employees’ expertise in project management. The primary responsibility was a mix of Learning & Development with Talent Acquisition. CPO being a newly-established division, Dimple has to develop the curriculum from scratch for different levels of personnel for project management for the business infrastructure domain.
Dimple being a sole intern in the CPO division, got an opportunity to collaborate with experts from IIT Delhi to develop the learning and development curriculum for the division and streamline the process of how the knowledge will flourish within the department by planning out trainer’s session with the help of in-depth knowledge of the experienced employees of ITC limited that would save time and cost in future for such training.
Her internship experience was smooth as she received guidance throughout the internship from her mentor, and this mentorship buddy program at ITC enabled her to excel at the internship.
Dimple Rai is an instrumental control engineer with experience of 13 months as an Administration Manager. She was accustomed to the HR policies and interacting with different personnel hierarchies within the organization. That experience was an added benefit that came in handy during her internship.
Her advice to the juniors is to be consistent and keep learning something new every day. As an intern, you should not waste a single day. At times there are few days when there is less work, and one should utilize that day and be productive to outperform during the internship.
