In a truly inspiring session, we had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). His message was simple yet powerful: we need to overcome our fear and adopt a "Let me try" mindset.
Dr. Raman explained that our hesitation often comes not from a lack of ability, but from the fear of being judged. This fear, he noted, is a major barrier that prevents us from learning and growing. He shared relatable examples, like students who miss out on volunteering because they're afraid of what others might think. He stressed that these moments of inaction are missed opportunities for learning and personal development.
His core message was a call to action. He encouraged us to stop worrying about external perceptions and instead be bold, curious, and proactive. The key, he said, is to start. Learning truly begins with initiative. It's about taking that first step, no matter how small. He reminded us that success isn't just about what we know; it's about having the courage to try, to fail, and to learn from our mistakes.
This session was a powerful reminder that we are the ones in control of our own growth. By shedding our fears and embracing the spirit of "Let me try," we can unlock our true potential and open ourselves up to a world of new experiences and opportunities.
